The beautiful mountain river of Voidomatis in Vikos Aoos National Park, of Northern Greece.
Voidomatis is a tributary of the Aoos river, which originates from Tymfi mountain (the summit of which is seen in the b/g), streaming through the Vikos Gorge.
This river has been characterized as the “cleanest river” in Europe, as it does not face any environmental issues, flowing through one of the most beautiful unspoiled and pristine natural locations of Greece.
The river is spanned by numerous very old and picturesque stone bridges, and is well known for water sports such as rafting, canoeing and kayaking.

This imposing 3.700 m2 castle (built in 1867) with over 70 rooms, was firstly the private home of Mitchell Henry, a wealthy politician from Manchester, England who was also an MP for Galway County from 1871 to 1885.
Mr. Henry sold the castle to the Duke and Duchess of Manchester in 1903, who lived there for several years. In 1920 the Irish Benedictine Nuns purchased the castle and opened an international boarding school. Previously the nuns, who had been based in Ypres (Belgium) for several hundred years, had been forced to leave during World War I.
Later Benedictine community have opened their Abbey and Estate to the public.
