First of all, apologies for my way too serious look in this picture...

My brother and I are radio amateurs. Yes, that breed still exists. Today we decided to do some HAM radio stuff from this cattle bridge with a small whip antenna on the roof of the car. But I thought we might as well use the Levitation Light to loft a wire antenna into the air.

And that's what we did. Just before doing that I took this picture of yours truly standing in front of the car and the so-called GoBox with the shortwave transmitter/receiver. The wire in front of me is the actual antenna that would be lofted 5 minutes later.

While I was doing KAP my brother prepared his telescopic mast and the shortwave wire antenna to be lofted by the kite some minutes later.

That afternoon we had contacts with radio amateurs from Europe and also from the USA.

I started KAP in 2006 after I was looking for a kite design that would be capable of lofting a wire antenna. One of the first hits brought me to Kite Aerial Photography. And the rest... is history.

We often use this cattle bridge in the middle of meadows and canals to do radio because of the lack of noise and other interference. Today was a radio day like any other. But this time we used a Levitation Lite delta kite to loft the wire antenna. But I first did some KAP for WWKW2019. Of course.
