Two bridges, from two different centuries. The Forth Road Bridge (on the right) and the Forth Bridge as seen from Queensferry.
The Forth Road Bridge was completed in 1964. It was then one of the longest suspension bridge in the world; it was the longest outside of the United States.
The Forth Bridge was completed in 1890, and is perhaps the most famous bridge in, and a symbol of, Scotland. It is a railway bridge across the Firth of Forth about 14 miles from Edinburgh. When it was built, it was the longest single cantilever bridge span in the world.

The visitor entrance to Edinburgh Castle. It is located on top a steep hill, Castle Rock, and is where the Royal Mile begins/ends at the western end of Old Town.
Visible here is the Castle Esplanade, intended to be a parade ground, and the Gate House. Two of the turrets and the tower of the Royal Palace are visible as the high points on the left.
It is reported that the castle had been under siege no less than 26 times, winning it the title of "the most besieged place in Great Britain".

Built in 1927 to commemorates the Scottish dead from the First World War (the Great War), it is now a memorial for casualties from all conflicts from the 1914 onward.
