This colonial era currency note is from the state of Sarawak. The Sarawak dollar was the currency used by the colonial era 'Raj of Sarawak' from 1858 until 1953.
The portrait here is of Charles Vyner Brooke, the third, and last, White Rajah of Sarawak. The local languages on the note included Chinese.

View of the Masjid Putra from Putra Square.
The mosque with its tall minaret and distinctive pink and white dome was the completed in 1999. It can accommodate 15,000 people and was built to be the main mosque in Putrajaya, the new administrative capital of Malaysia.

This is a software stitched (ie. not a sweep panorama) image of downtown Los Angeles captured from the Griffith Observatory with a Sony HX9V. It sharpery (oversharpened?) and more contrasty than the adjacent similar image that I did with an older Fuji F72EXR; July 2011
