The delicate and colorful back feathers of an African Crowned Crane seemed to ask for a photo as it trotted quickly by beneath the walkway at the Kansas City Zoo. They have such a nice array of feather colors on their backs and tails.

Feather floating out on the lake cast a delicate reflection on the water along with reflections of the clouds. Their intricate beauty never ceases to amaze me.

Spotted this solo feather blowing along over the backdrop of sunken leaves in some of the only unfrozen water along the lake shore at the park. Loved the way the wind was ruffling the fine parts of the feather on one end as it was gently illuminated by the late afternoon sun on a very unusually warm 65 degree December day.

Feather floating over this sunken leaf and caught on a small piece of wood caught my eye. Like the delicate fine textures of the feather against the strong colors and textures of the subsurface autumn leaf.

Always love the delicate detail in feathers. Found this one floating out on the lake. The extremely tiny water droplets on the feather were a plus when found later when viewing on the computer.
