The Zeeland Bridge is an impressive structure over five kilometres long and connects Schouwen-Duiveland (Zierikzee) and Noord-Beveland (Colijnsplaat). The bridge consists of 54 piers with 52 spans of 95 metres each.

The Province of Zeeland had the bridge built to replace the Zierikzee-Kats ferry link, which could no longer cope with the heavy traffic. On December 15, 1965 the bridge was officially opened by Queen Juliana. At that time the bridge was still called Oosterscheldebrug. It was not until 13 April 1967 that it was given the definitive name Zeelandbrug. In 2015 the Zeelandbrug existed for 50 years and since then has the status of a National Monument.
