I spoke to Dale and asked if I could take his picture as he worked on Norwich Market. He said people often asked and he did not mind. He showed me a previous picture someone had taken and given him, and also a drawing someone had done. He said he was once offered a job appearing in an advertisement but had declined as the fee was not enough to cover his time and travel expenses to London. I returned a couple of days later and gave him a print of this study to add to his growing collection.

Pete is a well known character on Norwich market. Now in his 80s he has had a very colourful life. He has worked with live stock until he retired and then he and a friend learned to play the organ and did work in a few pubs and clubs in the area. He usually sits and keeps his son, who has a food stall on the marker, company. He always has a smile and had no problem chatting to me and letting me take his picture.

The fishermen of Lowestoft used these "Scores" to get quickly from the High Street to the Harbour. They are a lot easier to walk down than climb back up.
