20200101_3463_7D2-200 Smokey Sun (001/366)
The first day of the new year saw a very smokey sky from the bush fires in Australia more than 3000km away to the north west.
Late in the day you could even smell the smoke.
This shot is just under four hours before sunset with the sun still high in the summer sky, and normally taking a shot directly into the sun at that time of day would be a big NO NO!
It was a strange day as very warm (31°C) yet looked like a high fog, but actually smoke in the atmosphere.
I would have preferred this pic yesterday - a full stop to the 2019 photo a day process!

It is the 2nd January and should be hot summer but a cold front has come through. I saw the subject for next Tuesday's Crazy Tuesday challenge (Winter) and thought how can I photograph that in mid-summer.
We had just arrived at a holiday park in Dunedin and I looked out from our cabin and saw smoke from the chimney of an adjoining property, so this is my take on "Winter",
