This 97 year old Indian (Fijian-Indian or Indo-Fijian) man can still read without glasses, but is a little deaf. He was telling me that he spent four or five years working in NZ (Wanganui area) many years ago, but can't recall the exact years. But he knew that he flew to NZ and back via a flying boat (from Laucala Bay in Suva to Auckland Harbour), So that puts the trip to the mid to late 1950s at the latest.
He later became a builder and an architect, and built the old shop (now demolished for road widening) that my brother-in-law operated a 7-day convenience store for about 15-20 years. It looked like an old wooden shop when I first came to Nasinu, Fiji 39 years ago.

I am sorting through my ten or so years of print entries in my local camera club competitions and seeing which ones are not on Flickr yet. This is one, a semi-homeless man watching a city cycle race way back in 2007. A good friend of mine knows his name, where he stays and has photographed him several times over the years.
