On board the game fishing charter vessel Gladiator. Used for bait catching and kahawai trolling. They had eight slightly cheaper Baitrunner reels for the general fishing, and this for bait catching (kahawai, jack mackerel etc).

Purchased about 1972 or 1973 and used for trout spinning for many years. Now "retired:" from my active arsenal of reels, but my nearly four year old grandson now uses it for "practise" fishing with a short rod and hookless lure.

Purchased 30/12/98 and still going strong. Normally used on a 9'6" one-piece rod, or a 8'6" two-piece rod. Used for salmon fishing in rivers (away from the mouth), although it was till this year my main salmon reel.

On the Crucis Force 7628 7'6" 2 piece 6-8kg rod. This combo on it's first trip out accounted for my son's first ever salmon.

To date (early 2017) this rod and reel combination has accounted for two chinook salmon (Al's on 26/13/14, mine on 06/01/17), several kahawai (Australian salmon) and several snapper and other North Auckland rock fish.
