The carnival that has been on the New Brighton foreshore for a couple of weeks is over and they are packing up and moving on. One of the attendants sits in the sun with his dog at his feet.

I thought of that Seekers song from the mid-1960s "The Carnival Is Over".

Scavenger Hunt 101 - SH 8 (abandoned building or ruin)

The ruins/remains of what was the third highest building in Christchurch, pre earthquakes, the Price Waterhouse Coopers building in Armagh Street. At 76.3 metres ( 21 floors) the demolition has left the basement (now flooded) and these supports.

ZK-OXC a new Air New Zealand Airbus A320 departs Christchurch at 6:00am bound for Auckland.

I was attempting to create "blurred" plane images in the overcast and semi dark conditions at sunrise (sun well hidden in cloud though!).

This is one of the new batch of A320 aircraft for Air New Zealand, with sharklets on the wingtips instead of the normal A320 wing ending.

"Leaving on a Jet Plane" is a song written by John Denver in 1966 and most famously recorded by Peter, Paul and Mary.
