Demolition of the relatively new seven-storey Waters Edge Apartments in Ferrymead continues. CERES Environmental NZ are doing the job for CERA (Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority).

Some will be pleased to see this block go as there was lot of resentment to it being built on the site of the old Ferrymead Tavern,

The last thing I expected to see when I went for a drive to the top of Evans Pass (behind Sumner) tonight. There, anchored in Lyttelton Harbour, near Camp Bay was the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior III.

I had read and seen on TV news that the Rainbow Warrior III tour around New Zealand didn't include Lyttelton - well not open to the public in Lyttelton anyway.

While the name Rainbow Warrior is famous in New Zealand (due to the French bombing the Rainbow Warrior I while in Auckland in 1985), this is the first time I have seen any of the three vessels.
