I was up a little later than usual last night watching the Fireflies out my bedroom window and the moon was so bright I decided to go outside and take some photos. According to what I've read online the Moon today is in a Waxing Gibbous phase. This phase is when the moon is more than 50% illuminated but not yet a Full Moon. The phase lasts around 7 days with the moon becoming more illuminated each day until the Full Moon. Which is this weekend on July 5th. I won't forget that, it's my daughter's birthday!
This year we have been treated to many clear days and night without cloud cover...it is unusual for these parts. I think the lack of pollution has something to do with it perhaps!
