My first image from the amazing flickr meetup in Indiana.

I'm not exactly sure how I'm supoposed to sum up my amazing time in Indiana and Michigan last week. To say that it changed my life is an understatement. The opportunity to meet, work alongside, and feel so close to so many photographers who I admire was such an amazing opportunity.

For the past month or so I've been finding it hard to know where I fit in my own ideas of photography and I was filled with a lot of self doubt. After spending the last week with so many talented people, I feel like my head and heart are ready to explode with passion for all the things that I want. These friends inspire me beyond anything that I thought would happen and I am pinching myself to make sure that it really did happen and that I actually got to experience all that I did.

Thank you to all the the beautiful friends that continue to be a light in my life and thank you to all of you who continue to support what I do.

I can't wait to show you more :)

Model is the exceptionally handsome and talented Cameron Sarradet

The idea behind this photo is inspired by a story I read about a man whose wife had gone missing and he lit a candle in his window every night so that she would be able to find her way home. I wanted to use this beautiful old window in a photo during the meetup and I knew that Cameron was the perfect choice to be in the photo. In perfect timing, one of the barn cats came and sat right in the frame and I had to keep it.

I have so many photos to edit and post, I'll probably be taking a bit of a break in my 365 project but still be posting everyday!

Model is the awesomely talented and hilarious Cameron Bushong.

During the meetup, the list of available props was massive. We had doors, windows, boxes of bones, about half a dozen wedding dresses, giant mason jars, wings, and these awesome vintage suitcases that I just knew I had to use in a shot like this!

We were sitting around the table on day and I looked at Cameron and said "Want to help me with a photo?" and this is the result :)

Model is Jacob Price . As badass as he looks, this is almost a complete reversal of what his personality really is. He is probably one of the funniest people I've ever met and I can still hear his random jokes and one-liners :)

I knew that I wanted to paint someone as a skeleton during the meetup and Jacob had been wearing that Captain's hat for a few days when all of a sudden I realized that I had the perfect shirt to go along with it. Then it all kind of snowballed into this idea of a skeleton sailor with a crow instead of a parrot. He was so awesome to let me paint his face in the hot sun and even kept it on for the rest of the night!!

He took an amazing shot after we worked on these, you should go check it out here: www.flickr.com/photos/theletterjacob/7557009660/

I finally got to meet one of my favourite photographers and friends, Sarah Ann Loreth. I feel like I've known Sarah for my whole life, she's one of those people who I feel like we share a brain wavelength and I was so excited to finally be able to meet her, work with her, and learn from her.

This meetup was just the beginning of a long friendship :)
