This is a picture from last week, but I liked it so much that I decided to use it for Bike Wednesday. I shipped Sam out to Vancouver yesterday and I'm going through bike withdrawals, partly fueled by anxiety over him being shipped via Greyhound in a shoddy cardboard box.
I just wanted to take this time to say thank you to everyone who has supported me in regards to my upcoming trip, both in my fundraising and with positive, supportive comments. I truly feel blessed to be part of such a loving, compassionate and inspiring community and I hope that one day I will be able to return the favour to all of you.
Joining Flickr, I never would have thought it would play such a vital role in my day-to-day life but it has and here is an example of these two worlds working as one. Over $500 of the two thousand I fundraised came from amazing friends on Flickr. I honestly couldn't have gone on this trip without the support from you all and I am eternally humbled that you've given me this oppurtunity, I know that I won't take it for granted.

The Bike Song
Feeling like I need a break from all this working/running/stressing/planning stuff. I took Sam out for a nice ride today and enjoyed the views and wind against my face, bikes are part magic you know.

Okay, so perhaps I should have waited for a day when it wasn't pouring rain to do this shot, I was drenched by the time I got home (not to mention I had to keep rewriting the words since the chalk kept washing off).
So my Otesha fundraising has hit a spike in the last week, I'm almost at the halfway mark (so far I'm hovering around $1000 which is unbelievable!) The counselling department at my school is buying 4 prints to display in their office and the photography teacher also bought some to display in her room. With just under 2 months until the big trip I'm starting to feel confident that I'll be able to fundraise close to the total amount! Day 3 of my Earth Week: Emission Free Transportation!
Taken this morning before work as I have a crazy busy day today! I have to leave in a few minutes to do my 10km run and then it's off to a pair of back to back meetings, although the topics are interesting (community forest and fair trade towns).
The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous here and today I managed to spend almost 3 classes outdoors which was awesome (even if we didn't get that much work done!)

Up up and away. If only it were this easy and fun. Loosely inspired by "UP"
I am feeling drained today which isn't good as I still have to go and run 12km in like...5 minutes. I go swimming with some of my students every wednesday morning and I always end up wiped by the time the day is done.
