For The Teleidoscopes theme: Night
Most certainly one of the coldest photos I've done. I always seem to pick the coldest evenings to take these sorts of photos and this was no exception, my camera battery stopped working every few minutes so I would have to warm it up in my hands to get it to take a few more shots. I wish that I got to see the northern lights more often, every once in a while I can see them cresting above the hills, only briefly....still beautiful, these ones I had to add in myself but it still makes me happy to see them again.
I remember once in the dead of winter a few years ago I was walking home from the library and looked up while listening to Rufus Wainright singing "Hallelujah" and the sky was filled with green movement. It was like watching God paint with watercolours, the colours blended and moved and I looked over and saw a couple holding hands across the street looking up as well. It was a moment that still makes me smile inside.

Such a beautiful sunset and in the winter that only means one thing....it's cold!!
I love my snowshoes, they're really my only form of winter equipment, must be a canadian thing. Even though I live in ski/snowboard resort central I haven't gone in years and despite my whole family town being hockey obsessed I'm not too keen on it either so that leaves me with not very many other options for the winter. That's where my snowshoes come in. I love that the forest and views like this are literally a minute walk from my door. I live closer to the forest than I do to a store or coffeeshop...heck closer than I do to a mailbox!
As much as I love my snowshoes, I'm still wanting it to be spring!

For The Teleidoscope's Week 12 theme: Danger Ahead!
Danger was the key word while taking this shot! It's been wamer the last few days and then today it froze and started snowing which created this lovely skating rink type situation. I must have slipped and fallen about 6 times on the way to take this, and I had plans to go for a small hike to a different spot but decided that I should probably call it a day before I broke a bone (or my camera!)
I wish you could see them in this shot, there were about 9 deer munching on some of the grass in the distance, occasionally they would look up at me as I jumped off of a rather icy boulder.

Whenever I see the colours black and red together I always get reminded of the painted "Viva" logo for Coldplay's album which is good for today because I'm in a Coldplay kind of mood. Let's hope this paint comes off easily and doesn't stain!

All week long I've been waiting for the perfect time to play with Theme of the Week's "Confrontation" theme and finally today I was able to put together the image that I had in mind. It's a different kind of editing for me and I was totally inspired by Dracorubio's talented work. I really like how it turned out and I'm excited to try it again.
I made a jumping video for you guys, it's kind of funny and it's weird to see myself jumping for a minute and a half but I hope you watch it and enjoy :)
