The city of Penticton is situated on the south end of Okanagan Lake. The lake is 135 km long and up to 5 km wide and has small and large cities surrounding it. At this time of the year Penticton gets busy cleaning and preparing it's beaches before tourist season.

The City of Penticton, with a population of thirty-eight thousand and nestled between two lakes, is a tourist destination. Surrounded by sandy beaches, orchards, vineyards, wineries, breweries, distilleries, and first-class eateries, the city is a tourist destination. There is an excellent hiking and biking trail system that leads in all directions, such as the spot where the picture was taken. A few minutes from downtown is Apex Mountain, a full-service ski resort.

The St. John’s Separate School and Miniature Church is a Municipal Heritage Property near Leader, Saskatchewan. On the property is a one-room schoolhouse and a miniature replica of the original St. John's Lutheran Church. The abandoned school was built in 1924 and still has the desks and other items a teacher would need. These schools were built and administered by several religious denominations during the early 1900s. The wood-frame construction and rectangular architecture contains a distinct window wall that is typical of the rural one and two-room schools built during that period.

When travelling back country roads one often comes across these abandoned and dilapidated old buildings. It makes me think, who long ago came across this scene far from civilization and decided to build a home here. I shot this with my Nikon D850 and a vintage Nikon Series E 50mm F1.8 lens at F10.
In our Chilcotin adventure we stayed at the Historic Chilcotin Lodge.
