Claudia(Fraggle Red),the HDR Queen and I went to do a sunset at this location. I had mentioned some of mu earlier images made here near the large rocks. Claudia said she saw the rocks on the Google Earth satilite maps(and the Flickr hybrid map also shows the rocks) but when we got there..."NO ROCKS". The area along the Boca Grande inlet must have been dredged and the sand beach made much wider. Oddly enough, there were some small outcroppings of rocks about 6 inches high and much closer to the lighthouse, and exactly what I had remembered when I was here last.

Well, so there are no rocks for a FG, only these measly clumps of sea oats.

A Flickr friend,Mike Jones and I headed to Gasprilla Island to shoot the Boca Grande Lighthouse. I mentioned Banyan Street for its dense forested trees...the afternoon light was incredible. Other than someone doing some photos of a young couple and two kids on a golf cart,we pretty much had that street to ourselves.

After shooting the Banyan trees on Banyan Street MJ and I headed to the Boca Grande Lighthouse. There was an approaching storm from coming in from the east and this was exactly what I was hoping for...the sunset colors in the western sky casting those colors onto those white puffy storm clouds. While standing on the wooden walkway over the sand dunes and looking back at the LH the light in the turret suddenly came on and now....click!

OK, so this looks a bit strange. Some will figure it out right away...so you may need to look at it a bit harder to see what I did here.

I don't know..have I just fallen off the cabbage truck or what?? Its seems as of late that Fluckr has made changes that really driving me nuts..maybe its my computer OS (XP Pro). I have to constantly keep refreshing the pages as the wording is all jumbled up,the vertical photos are now pushed to the right, the map sucks..in Hybrid mode its about as useless as tits on a bull, "AND" when using tags...none of "MY' tags are going into the box where I used to separate the words...the go straight posted. I tried to edit the tags to include the hyphen but the next time I go to use them its back to Fluckr's way of doing it??? I'm not going to go through editing tags everytime I upload a photo...that's BS.The only way I can used the Tag box is for new tags.
Have I been on a long sleep...or what???
