After shooting the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse early one morning I began some of my detail studiy work of wave action on the rocks. The setup was made and using the electronic shutter release I fired away when the waves came in. Somehow a single image does not capture what I wanted, so this is a blend of 3 or 4 images.

Another one of those multi-image blends. It seems as though no matter how many exposures I made, trying to capture the water to breaking over the rocks, there was never as much motion as in here. This is why I used up to 4 images, using little parts here and there to make this one image

You can see that when the tide is a bit higher and the wave action stronger that the water rushing into this slot will suddenly hit the back end and spray upwards. The conditions were not such for that shot but still nice . Actually there were several of these, but only one "Named".
