A short drive, a leisurely stroll through the forest, and then settling in for sunrise with one of the most picturesque scenes...well, that is how I like to spend an autumn morning.

During my trip to Jasper National Park last year, I took a cruise on Maligne Lake. The sun set as the tour ended and I photographed the last light on Mount Charlton. Further in the distance is Mount Warren with soft alpenglow.

During the chill of winter, I made my way down to the Owens River and made this image as the last bit of dawn faded into sunrise. Some winds on the mountain ridges blew snow into the air along the eastern Sierra Mountains near Bishop, California.

A scenic view over Nisqually Valley near Mount Rainier. Hiking above the cloud inversion is always a gamble as you are never quite sure if you'll get above it. This time was worth it.
