The Vista House was built in 1918 and is located about 20 miles east of Portland, Oregon along the Historic Columbia River Highway. It sits on a basalt cliff 700 feet overlooking the Columbia River Gorge.

Abandoned school in the pretty and peaceful semi-ghost town of Antelope, Oregon. In the 1980s the town was virtually taken-over by 7,000 followers of the cult of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh who established their world-wide headquarters at a nearby ranch.
For two years, the school building served as a home to followers of the Bhagwan.

Locust Grove Church, located in the ghost town of Locust Grove in Sherman County, Oregon, was built in 1895 and last used for a funeral in 1914.

Windmill and starry sky west of the town of Condon, population 650, on the road to Lonerock in Gilliam County, Oregon.
Ripe wheat fields extend to the East and West, but a small clearing directly behind the windmill holds a single, well-tended grave, decorated with pinwheels and flowers. Alongside the gravestone is a garden bench facing West.
I had driven by this spot on a road trip several weeks ago, and made the 2.5 hour trip again last weekend to take this photo, my first attempt at shooting the Milky Way.
