There are many redwood trees in Redwood City, though none of them are "old growth"; all of those were logged out a hundred years ago. This one was planted in ~1989 when our neighborhood was built and is quite magnificent.

The bridge was built in 1901 and has been modified several times. It is lifted on demand for commercial ships; otherwise every 30 minutes for pleasure craft. Our cruise ship, the Viking Polaris, will go under that trestle when we leave tomorrow to start our tour of all 5 Great Lakes.
