Today's edition of "Armchair Traveling During the Coronavirus Lockdown" takes me back to 5 years ago today when we spent the morning cruising along the edge of the beautiful Vermilion Lakes in Banff, Canada. The sky looked threatening, but we stayed dry. A ranger came by and said that a bear had been spotted in the area, so we stayed really close to the car !

Today's edition of "Armchair Traveling during the Coronavirus lockdown" takes me back to our trip to Banff. 5 years ago today, we visited Peyto Lake which is just a short distance off of the Icefields Parkway. Peyto is a glacier-fed lake, which gives it that gorgeous turquoise hue! It was quite hazy that day due to wildfires in the area, but the Dehaze filter in Lightroom works miracles with such images ! This pano consists of 7 images.

Today's edition of "Armchair Traveling during the Coronavirus lockdown" takes me back to our trip to Banff. 5 years ago today, we visited Lake Moraine. I had time for only a few photographs before we were pelted by large hailstones and ran back to the car! I would love to go back there again some day for a more leisurely visit...

Today's edition of "armchair traveling during the Coronavirus lockdown" takes me back to our trip to Banff, Canada 5 years ago. We spent several hours walking the trail along the shore of Lake Louise and stopping frequently to take in the stunning vistas. The color of the water, due to glacial silt, is just incredible - like a precious gem. I definitely did not alter the saturation to achieve this color!

Today's edition of "armchair traveling during the Coronavirus lockdown" takes me back to our trip to Scotland almost 5 years ago. We spent an afternoon in the Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow where we were greeted by this fascinating display of "Floating Heads" displaying many facial expressions.

This sad face mirrors how I feel after I listen to the governor's daily update on the status of COVID-19. Cases are up 44% in just the last 14 days, hospitalizations are up almost as much and ICU bed utilization is up >35%. All this because too many people can't be bothered to do the responsible thing. Horror, dismay, anger, fear, sadness, and anxiety. Our quarantine will probably last for the rest of the year, since we fear going out into public and being exposed to some moron who thinks just because they're young they're impervious to the ravages of this disease.
