SEE Big Steel BIG here on Black
Big steel yard works... an amazing, complex beehive of Big-scale activity.
It was much more than a photo could convey so I digitally painted this in an Impressionistic way to attempt to give it the feeling of being there.

SEEing it all; feeling the muddy-grit, smelling the fiery-smokey-dusty smells, hearing the engines roaring and huge metallic clanging and steam hissing... with loudspeakers blaring and workmen shouting loudly.

and yes, I wanted to become part of it, driving that truck!

when this work popped out of the tonemapping "oven" even I was shocked!
it started off fairly un exciting visually... but she polished up well!
Even has a bit of 3D depth/feel to it!!!
The clouds may be the best I've ever captured & processed... as I say, I AM learning.

This is a first try in the style blend of Thomas Moran and old Western painter Charles Russell.
Instead of the cowboys, horses and cattle galloping in the sunset... think of train engines hustling about, rounding up the strays (train cars) and making that special dust that transforms the LIGHT to ethereal magic!
