continuing along Primal Energy and Force research, I visited our local "swamp" known as a "slough" here. SWAMP has a rather nasty connotation but they are actually such active incredibly complex ecosystems... they are bio-Beautiful! To me the cypress "knees" look like far-away mountain-islands in an Asian-type artwork... so there is a fun, quirky visual scale thing going on here.

Just look into these scenes and SEE the competitive Life Forces are jockeying for better "position", more Light, more water, maybe not so much water... and Nature/Natural selection creates new Forms constantly... slowly...

One fact I found astonishing here; in the rainy season in South Florida the mosquitoes are BAD (Fact!)... BUT!!!
this swampy ecosystem is so well balanced that there are hardly any mosquitoes here, in that same season in which they invade my backyard a couple of miles away! The rainy season kicks in many thousands of larvae but the tiny fish and dragonfly populations swell at that time too... almost all mosquitoes, larvae and flying, quickly become "Lunch" here.

(ohhh... this is an experiment of a Photo-Digital Painting Hybrid work, I blended the two on layers to come up with a different "look" that still has good detail but also a bit of a painted feel...this one has more "painted" emphasis than the other posted.)

(taken in my backyard...painted with Topaz SimplifyView on Black)

WHERE HAS TARZAN GONE!?!

Where are my Heroes?

Where has my childhood hero mighty Tarzan gone?
I knew he went to Mars for a while.
Sadly, now I remember
They took him and Jane
back to jolly old England,
to live as a proper Gentleman.

What about my childhood hero Mighty Mouse?
They say he got tired of being taken for granted,
and always having to "save the day!"
He hooked up with an elephant in India
wher he now meditates in a cave.

What happened to The Real, black & white, Man of Steel?
Green Kryptonite didn't do him in.
Whispers are Lois conned him into retirement,
somewhere in sunny Florida.

Where did my heroic, powerful-fore-armed sailor Popeye end up?
He got sick of eating that green stuff
to encourage us kids to eat it.
The Acme Spinach Co-op couldn't pay the salary he demanded,
so he sailed away on his large private yacht,
with Olive and Wimpy as crew.
Rumors of sightings persist from Tahiti.

Where are those vivid, understandable moral-teaching heroes of yesteryear?
Now replaced by fakey looking puppets;
city-living dummies Bert & Ernie and a green thing living in a garbage can,
a giggly dancing purple dinosaur
and animations like little Dora with monkey friend forever "exploring" somewhere.
Or their replacements are the shallow, glitzy, Hollywood-hyped,
Happy-Meal-reinforced, big dollar commercial venture characters,
that last but a season.

Where are my Heroes???

Digital paintings are butchered in Flickrs tiny size, please SEE larger on Black here
My cars are all in the garage for now... back to COLOR!
A shady pond, illuminated by shafts of sunlight, with shimmering reflections and those brilliant orange fish swimming lazily. I felt Monet's presence there so I rendered my photo in digital painting form.

In Seattle's Veteran's Park. TOPAZ Simplify.

SEE this on Black...
A quartet of my favorite things assembled in a muted melancholy monochrome.
After reading that what we can actually SEE in the Universe Sky is only about 5%...FIVE PERCENT!!!... of the Universe's Matter, I was stunned.
Dark Matter is the other 95% and we can't even SEE it!!!
So, what if Dark Matter was transformed into Light Matter!?!
Would it Matter!?!
It might give us even better looking night skies like this one!!!
Thanks to Temari09 for the moon-y texture!
