Location of the Lin an Tai ancient compound is situated at a propitious position named as the " South-coiling serpent worships the den of the Big Dipper " and the constructing bearing is " Sitting the southwest to face the northeast ", which applies to Taiwan's oceanic climate. Although it is not magnificent, the integral layout is strictly cautious and dignified with a conspicuous distinction between the primary and the secondary, besides its tidy configuration. This peerless masterpiece can be ubiquitously seen in its exquisite handicraft, materials selection, stones for the foundation wall, red bricks of Chin Shui, window frame laid by slate, and window craving with the superb craftsmanship excelling nature, etc. Lee Chung-Yeow, the famous archietecture in the domestic (The architecture in charge of the dismantled project then) praised it as the "Lin an Tai ancient compound is one of the most typical styles for the rural dwelling house in the developing history of Taipei Basin, as far as the historical culture value is concerned....the existed ancient houses located in the north of Taiwan, to date, it shall be regarded as second to none"
林安泰古厝, 座落[ 南蛇環北斗穴, 蛇頭向七星] 吉地, 採 [坐東北朝西南] 之建築方位, 適合臺灣海洋型氣候, 雖不華麗, 但整體格局嚴謹大方. 主從分明. 配置均齊, 精緻的手工及選料, 石塊基牆. 清水紅磚.疊砌的石板窗格. 巧奪天工的門窗雕刻, 處處可見上乘之作.

Stone carvings can be seen around the doorframes, and each door is equipped with a hidden lock. Chinese characters signifying happiness and longevity are found to the right and left side of the entrance to this hall. Carvings on stone door lintels and stone posts are elaborate works of art. They convey the tracitional values of loyalty, filial piety and hope for good fortne and well being.
大門的門枕石.門墩與門臼, 都是用整塊石頭雕刻, 每個門都設有暗鎖. 青斗石柱上的對聯: [安宅唯仁知其所止, 泰階有道奠厥攸居] 安泰堂左右有福. 祿兩字門印. 青斗十門檻. 楹柱的雕花. 甚至每扇門窗的圖案都雕刻的栩栩如生
