在臺灣僅分布於蘭嶼地區，全球另一分布地在琉球的波照間島，兩地族群數量都非常稀少，花朵似香水樹，亮紅色的果實成串掛在樹冠，具觀賞價值。
Very small population. Only distributed on Lanyu Island, Taiwan, and Hateruma-jima of the Ryukyu Islands. Highly ornamental, it produces bright red fruit in cluster and the flowers similar to Ylang Ylang.
