Gangly inhabitant of well-vegetated wetlands, especially ponds and lakes with floating vegetation. Adult’s dark neck and bright white eyebrows are unmistakable. Juvenile’s white cheek and orangish neck can lead to confusion with Pheasant-tailed Jacana; look for Bronze-winged’s wholly brown wings. (eBird)

Another nice find on our visit to the Tam Nong RAMSAR site. Just the one present, foraging along the shore line. It was a nice end to the day.

A small and compact drongo that is glossy black overall, with a short, moderately forked tail. The shiny feathers on the head, breast, and back of the neck contrast with the plain black face and belly. It often occurs in pairs and small groups, as well as in mixed-species foraging flocks. It is found in forests, along forest edges, and in well-wooded gardens and plantations. The calls are usually a pleasant jumble of shrill sounds, whistles, buzzes, and metallic notes. (eBird)

Three of these lovely birds came into the viewing area of the hide where we waiting for some pheasants. They enjoyed a bath and a snack before leaving. Fascinating to me how their black feathers look so blue - not sure where the "bronzed" comes from.

Immense and imposing undertaker of a stork with a bare head and neck, pale eyes, and dark gray wings. Overlaps in some areas with similar but smaller Lesser Adjutant; note pale wing panel, paler heavier bill, prominent white neck ruff, and when in flight, grayer and less contrasting underwing. Forages in expansive wetlands and grasslands; also congregates in immense numbers at garbage dumps. (eBird)
---------------
Perhaps not the most beautiful bird in the world, but an interesting one nevertheless. We were thrilled as it circled above our heads, close enough to easily see the details of its plumage. It then banked and disappeared into the distance.

A small and slender cuckoo, far more often heard than seen; the male's accelerating song, which decreases in volume as it progresses, is composed of a few whistled long notes followed by shorter, breathy notes. Adult male and typical (non-hepatic) female show orange belly, gray head, and brown back and tail. Hepatic, or rufous-morph, individuals are rusty brown above and white below, with black barring all over the body. Inhabits open woodlands, edges, and agricultural areas. (eBird)
--------------------
A surprise find! This female cuckoo was flitting through the water hyacinths in search of prey. This was the best look that we had ever had of this seldom-seen bird.
