Dozens of firefighting crews are dwarfed by dense brown smoke streaming overhead in this north-facing Holbrook Junction Tamarack Fire panorama from Thursday evening, July 22.

We had to check and see the progress of the fire approaching our neighborhood at Topaz Lake, about 1/2 mile behind us.

The fire had clearly jumped Hwy 395, so part of it was also heading toward the neighborhood at Topaz Ranch Estates just a couple of miles to the east.

This portion of the fire perimeter is now considered controlled. Thank you to the fire crews, police and EMS personnel for your work during this difficult and at times traumatic incident!
