I attended an interesting United Way fundraiser at Kingston's Norman Rogers Airport where a number of airplanes and other vehicles were on display. The most impressive airplane was the enormous C-130 Hercules, a Canadian Forces transport plane.

This man was one of the volunteers taking part in this nonprofit fundraiser and I met him in the cargo hold of the Hercules.

Meet Kyle who is a member of the Canadian Forces. Kyle flew into Kingston for the day with this C-130 Hercules transport plane from its base in Trenton Ontario. He volunteered his day to participate in this United Way fundraising event and to represent the Canadian Armed Forces.

Kyle has been in the Forces for 8 years. He happily answered questions about this huge plane which was built in Marietta Georgia by Lockheed-Martin. It is capable of very long-distance operational flights, so the flight from the Trenton Airbase (a mere 30 minutes) was just a hop, skip, and a jump.

I appreciated Kyle and the other volunteers who donated a weekend day to this nonprofit event.

Behind Kyle, on the left, is the bulkhead separating the cargo area from the flight deck.

I don't think Kyle anticipated posing for photos, and his discomfort shows. He was, nevertheless, kind enough to participate in my photo project, which I told him I appreciated.

Thank you, Kyle, for participating in my photo project. You are my 902nd submission to The Human Family Group.
