I initially named these bluebells but a smart observer John Cowell from the UK corrected me.

Ubehebe Crater is a large volcanic crater of the Ubehebe Craters volcanic field in the northern half of Death Valley, in Death Valley National Park, California, USA. The Crater (pronounced YOO-bee-HEE-bee) is located at the north tip of the Cottonwood Mountains. The crater is half a mile (one kilometer) wide and 500 to 777 feet (150 to 237 m) deep. The age of the crater is estimated from 2,000 to 7,000 years old. (Wikipedia)
In 2012, new evidence suggested that the crater may be as young as 800 years old, although this estimation was a lower one, and it's still possible the crater is much older than that.

The hundreds of horses that live within the Tonto National Forest and roam along the banks of the Salt River are technically feral, as they’re the descendants of horses the Spanish re-introduced to North America during their conquests of the New World. However, as with most of the feral horses in the United States, they’re referred to as “wild.”
These thirsty horses were not bothered at all by the park visitors and were not especially wild.
