The sun breaks over the summit of Snaefell mountain flooding the Block Eary Valley with light. This crumbling Tholtan ruin with its solitary remaining doorway really captured my imagination and I knew it would work perfectly with a rising sun offset to its right, which only happens at particular times of year. Research and planning make shots like this possible. Having said that, the clouds along the top, framing the scene absolutely perfectly is complete luck. However to receive that luck, you’ve got to be out there in the first place, and that is quite simply half the battle with landscape photography 🌄
