Driving home from Dorset on Thursday afternoon I decided to stop at a local spot close to home to see what was growing in the fields. This wonderful spring scene is close by and I couldn't resist shooting a few shots.

I loved the contrasting colours blue, green and yellow, as the light passed overhead.

What a week!

I admired Jack Lodge's Bluebell shot on Instagram last week, it was really beautiful, and I was envious that Bluebell woods are just not like that in the Midlands. I noticed it was tagged up as Ashridge on an image on another website where the image was being used, so off I drove to Ashridge, Dockey Woods in Hertfordshire to be precise to get there and realised it was not those woods...

I then franticly took to the internet to see another similar composition (the low branch on the left) and noticed it could be in Dorset, Jack's neck of the woods! which would make more sense!

Wednesday midday I drove down to a little Dorset campsite pitched my tent and proceeded to recce some local woodlands in a bid to find this magnificent east-facing patch of Bluebells.

It was like trying to find a needle in a haystack in all honesty, and as I was just about to head back to the tent I found it...

I pinned the location and headed back praying for strong sunrise light. I didn't get much sleep because of a Peacock, and before no time the alarm was waking me up I went a 30-minute drive, and a 45-minute hike and I was just in time to catch the sunrise light starting to show through the woods.

I waited for 30 minutes and eventually settled on this most beautiful composition.

I left a happy man, and for me, this is an image you just can't get in the Midlands. It's the separation and clean bed of beautiful Bluebells that does it!

Last Sundays view looking down the Edale valley towards Lose Hill.

We were trying to get to the summit for sunrise but the pre sunrise sky was to nice not to stop and photograph it.

Compositional wise this gate was about as good as it got.

Disappointed there was no inversion on the Edale side, Hope got it all this morning.

Another pre-sunrise shot from Froggatt Edge. Walking up towards the summit I noticed this pair of silver birch
