Redemption comes at a cost. The freedom that it brings was purchased with blood, tears, and life itself. The beauty that shines forth came from scars and deep wounds. It was costly. It was a cost we could not pay, the price was higher than what we could earn. We could not pay our own ransom and earn our own freedom. It was purchased with blood shed for us. His life laid down so that ours could be saved. We deserved to taste death forevermore, yet by His scars we have life forevermore. His stripes are our healing. His death was costly, but it purchased our freedom! The wrath of God was fully satisfied at the cross and we stand clothed in perfect and glorious righteousness, that is His righteousness. We can now boldly approach the throne of grace as sons and daughters. Our greatest need has been met by the most generous gift of all. "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13)

This place left a mark on me. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore was not what I expected it to be, but it was better than what I expected. I am reminded that my finite mind is limited in understanding, but the mind of God is infinite without limits. His ways are higher than my ways, and His plans are so much better than my plans! I try to logically figure out things and when they are outside of what my mind can comprehend it is often too easy to want to disregard them all together. Then again I must remember that the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of man. This does not mean that God is foolish, but it is to give a mental picture of how much wiser He is than us.

There are many people sadly who have forgotten the true meaning of the rainbow beautifully painted across the sky. It is not first a symbol of gay rights and pride as many think, but it was a promise from God that He would never destroy the earth by flood ever again. It is a testimony of His love, faithfulness, and His perfect covenant. Every time that we see this beautiful symbol in the sky it is a reminder of God's promises!

Yosemite Falls sits at a mesmerizing 2425 feet high over the three major drops making it one of the highest waterfalls in the world. It is hard to grasp the size of it and the extreme winter in Yosemite led to an extremely powerful flow from spring snowmelt. Both myself and my equipment were completely soaked from the spray and I was not even that close to it. These are just small glimpses of God's power and these do not even stand in comparison!

I cannot even begin to imagine the beauty and glory of Heaven, but scenes like this at least give me a glimpse! I stood in awe and I did not want to stop looking either. It was so beautiful and mesmerizing, I could have looked at it for hours had it not been so cold outside. I am so thankful to the Lord for making this!
