The cornerstone may read A.D. 1889, but the church actually dates back to 1857. That may seem quite recent to my Flickr friends in other parts of the world, but here in Kansas City, Kansas it was only three years after Kansas Territory opened for settlement by the United States and four years before this country devolved into Civil War. This part of the world was called Bleeding Kansas because of guerrilla warfare over whether the state would be brought into the Union as slave or free. And the founders of St. Paul's were in the thick of it.

As with all my work, constructive critique is welcome, and faves are appreciated.
