While we were having lunch on the beach, a bus full of people -- many of them wearing white -- pulled up. The people carried flowers, a cake, and an empty chair to the oceanside. Realizing it was some sort of Santería rite, I asked our tour guide if it was in honor of Oshun, who I know is associated with the ocean. She told me that it was actually a ceremony in honor of someone who had died. (As with all my work, constructive critique is welcome, and faves are appreciated.)
