We planted the pear tree about a decade ago. For the past few years, it's produced one or two or three pears. Period. This year finally it's covered in pears. Looking forward to the harvest.

Day 161
Almonds aren't really supposed to grow in our area. However, when my husband consulted a garden expert about a decade ago, they decided to predict that global climate change would make it possible for us to grow almonds. This year, for the first time, the tree is covered with nuts.

Day 162
Our blackberry bushes are blooming. Last year some sort of fungal infection destroyed most of our bushes before they could fruit. We planted more blackberries in another part of the yard, but a few bushes from last year are making a comeback. It was late before I got a chance to take a picture, so the light wasn't much good, but I wanted to get my photo of the day.

Day 164
Pawpaws are fruit trees native to my part of the world, and they are very slow to grow and bear fruit. They also require at least one other tree to germinate. About 10 years ago I planted the first pawpaw in my yard, and a few years after that planted another. This is the first year that my original tree has had fruit on it. There are exactly two fruits on one twig. Looking forward to seeing what it does next year.
