Blizzard+Backyard=Winter Wonderland.

Can you see the ice sparkling in the golden sunlight seemingly sprayed onto the ice? See the same place a luscious green just a month or so before.

It was the end of Fall but a strong pre-Winter storm turned into a Blizzard of 2009 in the Northeast. It was official, Patchogue, received a record 27+ inches of snow.

This image of the falling sun casting a range of light and color shows the magic. Standing in my backyard, I realized, I could learn to ski right here! The 27" of snow would cushion the many falls I'd be sure to have.

It was a cloudy, hazy, dull looking day over the Miami skyline but then the sun shone through as it fell to the horizon. It lit up the sailboat sails and this brilliant catamaran, made the helicopter shine against the dull backdrop of hazy buildings and beach - it made the dull sky and skyline a perfect canvas for this cat.

[Straight Out Of Camera]. This stunning sunset was captured exactly one month before my Father passed away... taken at the spot he and I used to visit in 1996 during his trip to see me through a tough time in my life.

The nearly 7 years old Nikon D300 still can capture some mesmerizing scenes at sunset.

This Tampa Bay sunset I shot at home in Florida, looks crooked because the cloud edge appears to slope. But it actually is straight if you would see the original larger photo I cropped this from.

But the brilliant burning red heart figure in the sky to right above, and the two almost human eye like dark blobs to the right of the stunning Gold sun with clouds sliding past it, make for a surreal scene.

I caught this beautiful sunset from my hotel window in Orlando, Florida during a recent trip there to give a speech at a conference.

I was able to balance the Sun right above the little structure visible under it.

The sun silhouetted the street lamp shade and the castle like outline of the buildin go the left.
