Stiklestad ist vor allem durch die Schlacht von Stiklestad bekannt, in der der norwegische Nationalheld Olav der Heilige (Sankt Olav) am 29. Juli 1030 getötet wurde.

The village is mainly known as the site of the Battle of Stiklestad on 29 July 1030. Stiklestad Church is located in the village and it is assumed to have been erected on the exact spot where King Olaf II Haraldsson fell in the battle. The king was buried in Nidaros (Trondheim), canonised there on 3 August 1031, and later enshrined in Nidaros Cathedral.

Darmstadt - mini garden

Seltsamerweise blüht meine Japanische Zierquitte dieses Jahr zum zweiten Mal. Das hat sie während der 40 Jahre, die sie im meinem Garten steht, noch nie gemacht.

Strangely, my Japanese quince is blooming for the second time this year. She's never done that in the 40 years she's been in my garden
