AK-47 vs M16
The Propeller Group
(Established 2006, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)

This is a block of ballistic gelatin, a material used to study the effects of weapons on human tissue.

One 7.62x39 round, for which the AK-47 is chambered, was fired into one end of the block. One 5.56mm round, for which the M16 is chambered, was fired into the other end of the block.

This exhibit was accompanied by extremely slow-motion video showing the effects of the impact of both bullets. The slow-motion video revealed the momentary, but devastating, effects that each bullet had on the ballistic gelatin - just as they have on human bodies.
