This B-17G was built by Douglas Aircraft at Long Beach and procured under USAAF s/n 44-83872. It was transferred to the US Navy and re-designated PB-1W, USN 77235.
As a PB-1W, this aircraft was fitted with airborne early warning (AEW) radar developed under "Project Cadillac." See:
