These are photos that I took while workers were installing a new sewer beneath the street in front of my house.
I took this photo the day before the installation reached the part of the street in front of my house. It looks like the flow from the existing sewer was being pumped to the surface and through the large black hose. This bypass would allow the new pipe to be installed and connected.
