Today, waterproof digital cameras are available at modest prices, but in the 1990s high-quality waterproof cameras and/or housings were expensive.
In retrospect, I'm oddly thankful that all we had was the waterproof housing for the "disposable" cameras. As a result, we spent more time *experiencing* our dives, rather than fussing with a camera.
