Lockheed C-141B 64-0645 at NAS Moffett Field, June 1981.
This aircraft was originally procured as a C-141A. It was one of the first Starlifters I saw in the then-new "European" camouflage scheme.
According to Joe Baugher's serial number database, this Starlifter was later upgraded to the C-141C standard, and was withdrawn to storage in 2005*
According to www.amarcexperience.com, the aircraft was scrapped within Davis-Monthan AFB in 2010.

USAF Republic F-105D Thunderchief 62-4353 making a low, fast pass at NAS Moffett Field, June 1981.
Moments after I took this photo, despite FAA regulations against such flight, this aircraft went sonic just as it was abreast of my friends and me. That was memorable :-)
The aircraft was assigned to the 466th TFS, AFRES, at Hill AFB when I photographed it.

According to that history, this Thud was one of 18 that deployed to Skrydstrup, Denmark in 1981 as part of "Condor Redoubt '81."

F-14A Tomcat at NAS Lemoore in June, 1981.
The pilot's name on the canopy rail is CDR Bill Switzer. CDR Switzer survived ejecting from another F-14 aboard USS Constellation in December, 1981. He had also flown as a member of the Blue Angels in 1971 and 1972.

Vought RF-8G Crusader, BuNo 145627, and an LTV A-7E Corsair II, photographed at NAS Lemoore in June 1981.
The RF-8G was in the sunset of its career. This aircraft would be sent to desert storage in February 1982.

The U.S. Navy's last A-7E aircraft would continue to serve until 1991, including combat in Operation Desert Storm.
