Barred owl seen in early morning and in good light at Circle B Bar Reserve, Lakeland, FL. I was struck by this owl's eyes and how it watched my every move and how I felt we were connected at that moment.

Special thanks to Dennis Hollingsworth for telling me where the owl was and to Linda for showing me the best light for photography. Actually, all I did was press the shutter button and take in the experience.

Actually, there were two spotted owls side by side except one was facing us (depicted here) and the other was facing the other way. It was dark in the canopy where the owls were and difficult to get a good quality image. Plus, I was so excited to see these owls that I forgot to slow down the shutter speed by a lot. Under most circumstances, I wouldn't post it but it was a spotted owl after all, my first, and I wanted to record the event.
