Thick-billed Murre (Uria lomvia) flying back to the nesting cliffs on Bonaventure Island, off the east edge of Gaspe Peninsula near Perce, Quebec.

Although there were 1,000s in the area, they were difficult to access because of their flightiness on the water and the cliff faces where they nested were in-accessible. This is my only image, captured as we were traveling to the island one day.

A flock of Common Murres (Uria aalge) roosting on a cliff face on Bonaventure Island off Perce on the east coast of Quebec, Canada. A single Razorbill can be observed on the lower left of the image.

This island is the nesting site for a hundred thousand Northern gannets and thousands of other species of seabirds off the Atlantic coast of Canada.

Common Murres (Uria aalge) are one of the many species of seabirds nesting on Bonaventure Island off the east coast at Perce, Quebec, Canada.

The various species of birds would nest in different locations on the cliff face or ledges depending on their specific needs or availability of suitable habitat.

The cliff nesting seabirds were photographed from a tour boat that circles the island. It then docks on the island to allow visitors to visit the Northern Gannet nesting colony on the east side of the island on the upper slopes and cliff faces of Bonaventure Island.

Rhinoceros Auklet (Cerorhinca monocerata) on the inland strait off the west coast near Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada.

These birds were observed along the side of the charter boat we had when we were salmon fishing off the BC coast.
