(Hesperis matronalis) A lovely looking wild plant with racemes of of fragrant purple, pink or white flowers.
The diameter of the flower is about 3/4" (2cm) long. on stalks 1/2" (1.05cm) long, 4 hairy sepals, 4 petals and 6 stamens.
Flowering time: From April to August.
Habitat: Roadsides, open woods, woodland borders, thickets and waste places.
An old fashioned biennial and perennial European garden plant.
