It was my first and so far only visit to Point Lobos State Natural Reserve. I was accompanied by my good friend George who had come down from Napa Valley to join me.

What a wonderful spot on earth! Fabulous scenery, huge waves, sea lions, steep cliffs and cypress trees. Point Lobos is one of only two places where the Monterey Cypress are native. The natural habitat is noted for its cool, moist summers, almost constantly bathed by sea fog. The orange algae is actually a green algae named Trentepohlia. Its orange color comes from carotene, a pigment which also occurs in carrots.

The classic view of Hamnøy on the bridge between Hamnøy and Toppøya near Reine in Lofoten. Fishermen used to stay in these cottages during the seasonal cod fishing from January till April but nowadays they are rented out to tourists.

Oslo have had more snow this winter than usual. The hills around the city are covered in deep snow and it is like walking in a fairly tale to ski there.

I opted for the view of a short tele. To capture the complexity of a forest has always been a great challenge but I think the detailed view of the trunks and branches is very interesting and appealing.

I always wanted to visit a desert, walk on the dunes and experience the vast landscape. This year I had the opportunity to do so in maybe the most iconic desert in the world: Sahara.

It was every bit as amazing as I thought it would be and I would love to go back. Morocco was a good host.
