Another pre dawn shot from the beach at Bamburgh with the sun just below the far horizon. The Farne Islands are visible on the left horizon along with Bamburgh Castle's lights on the right. I was surprised that were only couple of fellow photographers out in such great light.

Out at 4.30am this morning for the short drive from Seahouses to Embleton, then a torchlight walk out to the bouldered beach at the south end of Embleton Bay. It didn't look like I was going to get a good sunrise as I balanced precariously across the slippery dolerite boulders, wet with the receding tide. However things improved and around 5.30 am the light show began. You can see the Lilburn Tower of Dunstanburgh Castle prominent in the upper left of the skyline.

A very early start on the beach before the sun makes the Farne Island horizon. The cold Northumberland coastline certainly makes for a photogenic break. I have taken quite a few different perspectives of this idyllic scene but I quite like this one with the little stream, caused by the ebbing tide, giving a nice lead in line to Bamburgh Castle still with its night lights clearly visible. The Farne Islands can be seen on the centre and left of the horizon with their lighthouses.

A dawn shot at the limestone rocks at Lower Newton on the Northumbrian coastline. Unfortunately the dawn was really blocked out by a large bank of cloud out in the North Sea. I managed to get a couple of shots before the sun eventually made its way from behind the clouds, but didn't get the shots of the areas I wanted because of the clouds, so I will return. This was a 128 second long exposure using a NISI 10 stop filter.
