The River Roddlesworth gently cascades down to the series of reservoirs on the West Pennine Moors above Blackburn and Darwen. The leaves have begun to fall but there is still plenty of green on the trees.

Lovely walk in this valley between Parbold and Appley Bridge in South Lancashire.

Sadly a typical August day of rain and grey skies. This is the small weir near Calder Vale Mill on the river Calder. The water is peaty brown off the Moors of the Forest of Bowland. It looks like tea!

The evening light was so good this evening I nipped out to get a shot of this local church at St Michaels. With the strong light and deep shadows a tried HDR to balance out the light!

Another shot of this haunting statuesque tower high on the Rivington hill. Built in 1910 as part of the estate owned by Lord Leverhulme. This time adjusted in lightroom with a sepia tone.
